Faith in Action |
Faith in Action of the Quad Counties (formerly known as Pana Area Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers) is a cooperative Christian neighborly outreach program of Pana Community Hospital, Pana area church congregations, and community agencies. The trained volunteers assist the elderly, homebound, disabled, and their families to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Interfaith Services
The service most frequently requested by the 94 active care receivers is transportation. Whether it is for a doctor's or other important appointment, people who do not drive can get the transportation they need from an Interfaith volunteer. Other regular services include telephone reassurance, weekly visits, errand running, minor home repair, and yard clean-up. Interfaith volunteers can even provide respite care so that a homebound patient's primary caregiver can get a much needed break.
How to Request Service
Any family member, church, hospital, or social service agency may request services for someone. Service can begin within two to three days after a phone call to the Faith in Action office at 562-2131, extension 378. Services, support, and resources are provided to all individuals residing in Assumption, Herrick, Nokomis, Oconee, Pana, Ramsey, Rosamond, and Tower Hill who are in need. No one will be discriminated against on the basis of age or any other factor.
Faith in Action Staff
