Physical therapy can help anyone who is suffering from decreasing physical ability or increasing muscular/skeletal pain. This includes anyone from an athlete recovering from a sports related injury to a geriatric patient who needs to improve his balance and strength through exercise. Each month, our two therapists and three licensed therapist assistants help approximately 300 patients work toward their functional goals.
Sports Medicine
Sports Medicine utilizes the expertise of a team of health care professionals, including orthopedic doctors, licensed physical therapists, registered nurses and one's family practitioner. This program emphasizes education, prevention, and treatment of athletic injuries to help athletes achieve and maintain their optimum level of function. It is individually designed to meet each athlete's needs.
Urinary Incontinence Program
Urinary incontinence is the sudden loss of urine without warning. An estimated 13 million Americans suffer from this affliction, forcing them to alter their lifestyle and endure embarrassment from their loss of urine. The good news is that there is treatment available for this frustrating problem and we're here to help.
Work Conditioning
This program analyzes the skills necessary in performing the patient's job and then works with the patient until he or she has these skills and can return to work. Typical goals are to increase strength, coordination, flexibility, balance, and endurance.
In-Home Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy department works in conjunction with the Quad County Home Health Agency to bring the benefits of physical therapy to the homebound. In-home treatments may include strengthening, gait training, or balance exercises as well as education for patients and their caregivers.
Satellite Clinic
To better serve our community, a second facility is now available for physical therapy. Patients can now utilize the Ramsey Medical Clinic for their physical therapy appointments. The Ramsey Medical Clinic is located at 715 South Superior in Ramsey and is staffed by the members of the Pana Community Hospital physical therapy staff on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. by appointment only.
