Diagnostic Imaging

The Diagnostic Imaging Department is open Monday through Friday 7:00 am-6:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 am to Noon.  Our Diagnostic Imaging Department professionals employ a number of different methods for ensuring diagnostic accuracy which includes services in Diagnostic Radiology (including Fluoroscopy), Mammography, CT scanning (CAT scans), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

Diagnostic Radiology is available during office hours and 24-hours a day for the Emergency Department.

Fluoroscopy procedures are available Monday through Friday with a Radiologist on site.  These procedures are captured by digital acquisition on a GE Legacy unit.  Fluoroscopy is available by appointment only.

CT scanning (CAT scan) is performed on a single slice GE Hi Speed Pro CT Scanner featuring bone densitometry scanning for osteoporosis.  CT scanning is available by appointment and 24-hours a day for the Emergency Department.

Our Mammography department is staffed by mammography certified technologists and is accredited by the American College of Radiology.  Screening Mammography is scheduled by appointment only Monday through Friday with a physician order.  Diagnostic mammograms are performed, by appointment only, Monday through Friday with a Radiologist on site.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures are performed in a mobile unit, a 1.5 GE Tesla, which offers a more open design (flared ends) for the ease of claustrophobia.  The mobile unit parks at the end of PCH's Medical Mall and portal access is available to the unit which keeps the patients out of inclimate weather.  MRI and non-invasive MRA (study of the blood vessels) are available two mornings per week by appointment only.

Nuclear Medicine studies are available 2 days per week.  One of the two days features Myocardial Perfusion studies (Cardiolite Stress Testing-treadmill or pharmalogical).  Nuclear Medicine is available by appointment only.

Ultrasound procedures at PCH utilize general, vascular and cardiac scanning performed on an ATL HDI-3000 ultrasound machine which helps provide our patients with the best medical care possible.  Ultrasound is available by appointment and 24-hours a day for the Emergency Department.
